The Apple Tree Dental Practice

Suzette Mulder is our specialist orthodontist. She offers treatment both on the NHS and privately.

Braces have changed a lot from the old metal train tracks we all remember. Today, high-tech clear aligners are available for rapid and almost invisible straightening of teeth. Braces today are smaller and much less conspicuous than ever.

We offer a wide variety of braces, but we believe that comfort and speed-of-correction should never be compromised. So all our NHS patients are fitted with “self-ligating” brackets. These have small clips that hold the wire in place, meaning that there is no need for the bands that used to slow down treatment and meant that we had to use higher forces in order to re-align teeth.

Self-ligating brackets offer better oral hygiene, faster treatment times, greater comfort and the need for fewer follow-up appointments.
Older people and those not eligible for NHS treatment can still have braces. And because this treatment is available privately, options are much wider.

Braces these days can be almost invisible. Self-ligating brackets, described above, offer better oral hygiene, faster treatment times, greater comfort and fewer follow-up appointments.

Invisalign are clear aligners that slip over your teeth and move them gradually. You progress through a set of aligners, changing to the next aligner every two weeks, with each one moving your teeth a little closer to where we want them to be.
